Cultural and literary competitions for the month of November

On 9th November, our school buzzed with enthusiasm and creativity as students showcased their talents in a series of cultural and literary competitions. The events included Shloka Chanting, Fancy Dress, Kannada Poem Recitation, Speech, English Essay Writing, and Mandala Art, providing a platform for students to explore and express their artistic, linguistic, and oratory skills.




A Visit to PPISR

On 12th November 2024, the 9th Standard students, along with our science teachers, visited the Poornaprajna Institute of Scientific Research (PPISR). The full-day program was divided into three sessions.

Session 1: Chemistry
In the first session, students explored various experiments and concepts. They learned about the Bleeding Heart experiment, coordination compounds (the bond between central metal ions and ligands), catalysts, and computational chemistry.

Session 2: Physics
After lunch, the second session focused on Physics. Topics included space science and the properties of light, such as interference and diffraction.

Session 3: Biology
The final session was dedicated to Biology. Students gained insights into blood groups and their components, and there was an engaging demonstration involving liquid nitrogen.

The research scholars at PPISR explained the experiments thoroughly, significantly enhancing our students' scientific temper. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Halageri Sir for organizing such a wonderful outreach program. We hope many of our students will pursue higher studies in Science.




October Activities

The month of October which is packed with several festivities and important events such as Navratri, Dussehra, World Mental Health Day etc is witnessed the fifth Cultural and Literary Competition on 26th Saturday, where children actively participated in the competition like diya decoration, greeting card making, Geeta chanting, Hindi poem recitation, Sanskrit, Kannada and Hindi speech, powder Rangoli etc.

Children's engagement in cultural and literary activities play a vital role in their holistic development, nurturing creativity, critical thinking and cultural awareness. Children not only develop their individual talent but also learn to participate and respect different cultures, fostering a sense of community and enhancing their overall communication skills.




Gandhi Jayanthi Celebration

“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” - Mahatma Gandhi
Mahatma Gandhi, popularly known as Bapu, is acknowledged for his doctrine of non-violence that led India to its glorious freedom.
To serve this day, the students & teachers held a special assembly to commemorate Mahatma’s life & teachings followed by Lal Bahadur Shastri’s honor & legacy. He is also remembered for composing the slogan ‘Jai Jawan Jai Kisan’. The teacher’s led a chair and sang Gandhi’s favorite Bhajan ‘Vaishnav Janto’ with full exuberance.
A special speech with Gandhian quotes & messages brought the gathering to understand more about the iconic leader. He led his praise worthy life & left behind a legacy to inspire people & unity in brotherhood. May the spirit of truth & non-violence always be with us.



Cultural and Literary Competitions

The cool and splendid month of September witnessed, the fourth cultural and literary competition, with children actively participating in competition like- clay modelling, shloka chanting, devotional songs, fancy dress, English speech, Kannada speech and English declamation.

These competitions highlights the importance of exposing young minds to diverse artistic expression, fostering creativity, enhancing social skill and also promoting cultural awareness among them.

Students participated in Mad Ads, patriotic dance, bouquet making, pick and speak, English story telling and fancy dress, displaying their creativity and skills. The event was a wonderful celebration of imagination, expression, and cultural appreciation, leaving a lasting impression on everyone involved.

Each competition provided our students with a platform to express their creativity, patriotism, and eloquence, making the day both memorable and inspiring.




Teachers’ Day Celebration 2024

A Memorable Tribute to Our Educators

On the occasion of Teachers' Day on 5th September 2024, the students of PPEC, Indiranagar, came together to celebrate and honour the guiding lights of their lives – teachers. Aditi and Smrithi from Class 10, the anchors introduced the day’s program and extended greetings to the esteemed chief guests, Mrs. Anju and Ms. Thanushree S., both distinguished Bharatanatyam dancers, school dignatories and the teachers.

The celebration began with an invocation, followed by a tribute to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. His life and teachings were highlighted through inspiring speeches and a declamation by Yashas of Class 8A, who was masquerading as Dr. Radhakrishnan.

The program then transitioned into a series of vibrant cultural performances. Students from different classes showcased the rich diversity of India’s folk traditions through dance, music, and skits.

From the captivating folk dances competition by the students of Classes 8, 9, and 10, which included performances of Garba, Ghoomar, and regional songs like "Navrai Majhi" and "Channappa Chenagawda," to the heartwarming skit and melodious singing by Primary and high school students, the performances truly captured the essence of India’s cultural heritage.

The celebration was neatly organised, a colourful display of energy, joy, and personalised handmade greeting card was distributed as a gratitude towards their beloved teachers. The event concluded with the announcement of winners for the folk dance competition, followed by heartfelt speeches from our Principal, Mrs. Kumuda, and our Chief Guest, Ms.Thanushree and Mrs. Anju. The day ended on a high note with the students presenting a special tribute song to their teachers.

In addition to the cultural festivities, fun-filled games were organized in the afternoon by the students for their teachers, fostering a joyous and interactive environment.

This Teachers’ Day celebration was a memorable and heartwarming tribute to the unwavering dedication of our educators. It reminded us to not only appreciate our teachers on this special day but throughout the year for their invaluable contributions to shaping our future.

The celebration continued on 14th September, when the Management organized motivational speeches for students and teachers in separate sessions. The resource person is a renowned personality, Mr. V. Y. Gundu Rao, 18 years of experience in training in soft skills, life skills, and personality development, Mr. Gundu Rao is also a well-known celebrity on Doordarshan for various talk shows on similar topics of interest. He addressed the students in a very interactive, informative, and entertaining session, touching on topics like time management, the importance of motivation, goal setting, leadership qualities, values of courage, belief in oneself, the 4R’s of learning, and many more.

The session for the teachers was presided over by our Secretary, Shree S.K. Bhat, Committee members Brig. H.B. Hande, Shree. K. Sreenivasan IPS, and Shree Nandakishore Ballal. The resource person addressed topics such as general complaints by parents, teachers, and students, the learning pyramid, the concentration span of students, Do’s and Don'ts advice for teachers, analogies referring to Newton's laws, life skills for teaching, and so on. The Secretary wished the teachers on the occasion of Teacher's Day and spoke about the teachers' role in molding and bringing out empowered students. The Principal also addressed the gathering, thanked the teachers for their efforts, and encouraged them to continue doing their best. It was a heartwarming gesture of the school committee members to be present and give their valuable time to be amongst the staff and teachers. This was followed by a delightful Luncheon.



Dental Checkup
Our school conducted a dental checkup for all students in collaboration with Dr.Jagadeesh, Dr.Diganth, our school alumnus, and his team. The event aimed to promote oral health awareness and ensure early detection of dental issues. The team provided a thorough examination and offered personalized advice on maintaining good dental hygiene.




Independence Day Celebration
Independence Day is celebrated religiously throughout the country on 15 August every year as it is a tremendous day. As India celebrates its 78th Independence Day, the government of India has announced the theme “Viksit Bharat,” or Developed India, which symbolizes the vision of a developed nation by 2047.

In our school premises the traditions of flag hoisting, which was done by our Chief Guest Squadron Leader (Retd) G.Sri Kala and other dignitaries of the day. It emphasizes the role of the freedom fighters, instilling patriotic favor, and feeling of oneness, solidarity, and fraternity. Many cultural programmes, like speeches, patriotic dances, band displays, colorful drills, songs, etc.

The activities of the day aimed at making the children realize the importance of life & liberty followed by the sacrifices of numerous patriots.




Exciting News: Inauguration of Robotic Class!
We are thrilled to announce the launch of our brand-new Robotic Class, inaugurated on 8th August 2024, with much enthusiasm and anticipation. This innovative program marks a significant milestone in our commitment to providing cutting-edge education that prepares our students for the future.

Our Robotic Class is designed to ignite curiosity, foster creativity, and develop critical thinking skills among our young learners. Through hands-on activities and interactive learning experiences, students will explore the fascinating world of robotics, programming, and artificial intelligence.

We are confident that this program will inspire our students to think beyond traditional boundaries and equip them with the skills necessary to thrive in a technology-driven world.

Investiture Ceremony 2024-25
Student Council election was held on 5th July 2024. The High School students elected the following students:

The Investiture Ceremony - a significant event that marks the formal induction of student council members into their roles was held on 26th July 2024. Mr. Kishore Bharani, ACP, Traffic East, Indiranagar, Bangalore was the chief guest. Hon. secretary Shree S K Bhat attended the program. The guest pinned the badges to the leaders followed by ‘oath taking’ by the student council who pledged to uphold the values and ethos of the school.

In his address the chief guest spoke about road safety precautions, advised students to be cautious about choosing friends, and to take part in sports and cultural activities. In his speech Hon. Secretary mentioned that it is heartwarming to see young leaders stepping up to take on responsibilities, stressed on less usage of mobile and asked the students to follow ACP advice seriously and concluded the speech by wishing all a successful tenure.
The programme concluded with the National Anthem and formal photo session.







CULTURAL AND LITERARY COMPETITION 2024- 2025 (July 2024)
We never let the fun stop!! We are back again with students of classes 1-7 for another round of competitions conducted on 20th July 2024.
The enthusiasm and talent displayed by our students were truly remarkable. Each performance whether in the form of an action song, speech, storytelling & poem recitation.. showcased their dedication and creativity.
The judges were thrilled and spellbound by the exceptional performances of the students. The spirit of literary and cultural exploration continues to thrive in our school and we look forward to many more such events that inspire and celebrate our students’ talents.

















CULTURAL AND LITERARY COMPETITION 2024- 2025 (June 2024)
The beginning of the monsoon season that starts in the month of June, witnessed the first cultural and literary competitions with children participating in Hat making, Mehandi, greeting card making, book mark making, drawing and colouring events.
Courage, enthusiasm and excitement filled the children to exhibit their talent and skills.













GURU PURNIMA
Guru Purnima, also known as Vyasa Purnima, is a significant festival dedicated to honoring teachers and gurus. Traditionally, this day commemorates the birth anniversary of Ved Vyasa, the revered sage who authored the Mahabharata and played a crucial role in preserving ancient knowledge.

Celebrating Guru Purnima not only honors teachers but also strengthens the bond between students and educators










Motivational Speech Inspiring Students Through an Adventurous Journey
On July 21, 2024 in our school auditorium, we had the privilege of hosting a motivational speech by Rear Admiral Sampath Pillai AVSM (Retd) of the Indian Navy. His captivating address took us on an exhilarating journey—one that resonated deeply with students in grades 8, 9, and 10.
Admiral Pillai shared a remarkable story about his father, Brigadier M.M. Pillai MC (Retd), who endured captivity in a prisoner-of-war camp in Singapore during challenging times. With vivid detail, he described his father's daring escape route back to India—a tale of resilience, courage, and unwavering determination.
Brigadier M.M. Pillai MC (Retd) chronicled this extraordinary journey in his book titled "3000 Miles to Freedom." In this gripping account, he shares not only the physical challenges but also the emotional and mental fortitude required to overcome adversity. His experiences serve as a testament to the indomitable human spirit.
Through engaging visuals and a bird's-eye view presented via a PowerPoint, Admiral Pillai emphasized the importance of our defense forces. His speech ignited a sense of pride and motivation among the students, reminding them that challenges are stepping stones toward growth. He encouraged them not to be defined by obstacles but rather by how they overcome them.
Drawing inspiration from Admiral Pillai's words, students learned that self-belief is essential for success. Like him, they too can navigate life's difficulties with unwavering determination. Smt Draupadi Murmur, a beacon of resilience, exemplifies this spirit—rising above adversity to become one of the world's most influential women.
The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, allowing students to seek further insights and clarifications. As we thanked Admiral Pillai, we carried with us the knowledge that our unique journeys, filled with challenges and triumphs, shape our incredible futures.
Later, Mrs. Sunita Pillai addressed a select group of teachers on the topic of Special Education for differently abled children. Her commitment to supporting this segment of students was evident, and she pledged to continue sharing her expertise whenever the school requires it.















. International Yoga Day
. June 21st International Yoga Day coincides with the summer solstice in the Northern Hemisphere, symbolizing growth, development, and reconnection with nature.

International Yoga Day was celebrated in our school on 21st June in a splendid manner. Smt. Anusha Rajana was the chief guest, Hon. secretary S K Bhat and Hon. committee Member Brig. H. B. Hande graced the event and witnessed the display of yogic skill by the students.

The program started with an invocation song, followed by welcome address. Various programs were scheduled, Yoga prayer sahana vavatu, Guru namaskara postures, Surya namaskaara , Yoga with music steps, Asanas: Ekapada sirasana, yogamudrasana, rajakopatasana, sirasana,vvajrasana, chakrasana,vrikhasana, padmasana were displayed. Meditation, Bharatiyanam mudras with music and finally closing prayer were sung by all the participants The guest who is an alumni of our school spoke about days in PPEC ,Indiranagar, healthy body in a healthy mind , daily practice and demonstrated advanced yoga postures to the audience who were mesmerized by her flexibility and skill. Hon. secretary and Brig. Hande appreciated the students and the trainers.

The Theme for the year 2024 is ‘yoga for self and society’.Yoga not only benefits individuals but also contributes to a healthier and more harmonious community. The school emphasizes the importance of introducing yoga to children early, so they can carry the message of well-being to the society.
